PROCESS ENGINEER
POSITION SUMMARY
The Process Engineer is responsible to provide technical support for Mechanical Maintenance in root cause failure analysis, troubleshooting complex mechanical issues, development of permanent solutions to repeat problems, implementing systems to prevent future failures of equipment, development and implementation of proactive and predictive maintenance practices and mechanical maintenance employee skills development. Acts as a subject matter expert for the machine processes.
THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
Provides safety and housekeeping leadership through example and direct participation in safety and housekeeping improvement efforts;
Lead engineering efforts supporting the mechanical maintenance activities at the mill;
Lead and manage mechanical maintenance capital funds planning and requests for the facility. Execute maintenance capital spending to meet CFR objectives (cost, schedule, results);
Manage maintenance capital and expensed spending in a way that:
Promotes adherence to corporate policies;
Provides regular and timely updates to managers in order to communicate progress on various projects;
Ensures spending within approved budgets;
Promotes best value procurement practices.
Provide engineering technical support to mechanical maintenance to:
Improve machine availability and reliability;
Improve efficiency on use of internal labor;
Improve maintenance cost to unit output.;
Improve planning and scheduling of work.
Recommends and implements progressive maintenance practices for both preventive and predictive maintenance;
Leads efforts to reduce unscheduled maintenance downtime by finding solutions through root cause analysis, preventative, and predictive maintenance;
Review repetitive mechanical issues and provide solutions;
Maintain required mechanical maintenance documentation;
Responsible for daily results (DOM items, changeovers, process settings, uptime, waste, safety, quality)
Develop/train/drive a structured approach to troubleshooting and standardized work practices within the operations teams
Identify/lead/support Continuous Improvement Projects that will improve the long-term productivity of the lines, improve quality, and/or improve safety. Ensure proper prioritization of projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience;
Demonstrated skills in developing and implementing mechanical preventative and predictive maintenance practices and procedures and analysis and elimination of failures;
Demonstrated project management experience;
Demonstrated experience with process mechanical equipment.
