Summary

Perdue AgriBusiness has an opening for a Maintenance Mechanic (Soy) at our Bowersville, GA location. This position will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the Bowersville Crush Plant to perform assigned maintenance duties within scope of classification to include equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, emergency breakdown, and equipment failure.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment

  • Diagnose failures to electrical and mechanical equipment and make repairs

  • Rebuild mechanical equipment

  • Fabricate sheet metal

  • Compile and complete paperwork relative to repairs to include but not limited to work orders, time cards, and job cards

  • Perform all work within safety guidelines established by local, state, and federal agencies as well as company policies

  • Respond to calls after hours and on weekends to repair electrical and mechanical equipment failures

  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management

Minimum Education

High School or equivalent

Experience Requirements

  • 0 -3 years of maintenance related experience

  • Must have the ability to learn to use and operate hand tools and industrial shop equipment

  • Valid state driver's license

  • Satisfactory DOT drug test and physical

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to move freely throughout the AgriBusiness facilities

  • Climb vertical ladders (0 - 150')

  • Climb vertical ladders

  • Carrying tools and equipment (0 – 50 pounds)

  • Exposure to extreme temperatures (0 - 100 Degrees Fahrenheit)

  • Humidity, (0 - 100%)

  • Noise (50db to 100db)

  • Chemicals (SDS sheets available)

  • Must be able to wear protective equipment to include self-contained breathing apparatus
