Google User Experience Design Lead, Visual Designer, Workspace Studio in Boulder, Colorado

Minimum qualifications:

  • Experience working with multidisciplinary user experience and/or product teams (e.g., motion, interaction, user experience research, engineering, content strategy) on technical implementation.

  • Experience implementing visual design systems across a range of platforms in an iterative software development environment.

  • Portfolio highlighting multiple projects and your contributions.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 12 years of industry experience working in a fast-paced tech environment.

  • Expertise with industry standard design tools (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch).

  • Knowledge of technical constraints and limitations as they apply to designing for platforms such as desktop and mobile, Android, and iOS.

  • Ability to act as a leader in communicating conceptual ideas and design rationale, within a user-centered design process.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload and meet critical project deadlines.

  • Communication and problem-solving skills and the ability to build good working relationships.

The Studio team is re-thinking productivity and innovation across Google Workspace, with content and community products and leadership as its customers. Our engagement model includes leading programs such as brand development and imagery, and working alongside product teams to drive innovation and ideation.

Our mission is "to remind the world what it is that they love about Google Workspace". In this role, you will grow and steward the Google Workspace brand, scout a course, and stretch to solve for a future that may not even exist yet.

Additional Information

(Colorado only*) Minimum salary of $174,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.

*Note: Disclosure as required by sb19-085 (8-5-20) of the minimum salary compensation for this role when being hired into our offices in Colorado.

  • Lead visual design direction for projects within Workspace Studio team.

  • Cultivate a culture of respect and collaborate with user experience, product management, and engineering partners to synthesize insights and shape product direction.

  • Work with user experience research to develop user understanding and plan/support testing/validation.

  • Support accessibility, internationalization, and product excellence across internal and external teams.

  • Promote feedback culture by both giving and receiving constructive and actionable feedback.
