SciTec Staff / Sr Staff Systems Engineer in Boulder, Colorado

SciTec has an immediate opportunity in our Boulder, CO office for a Systems Engineer specializing in tactical data links. This engineer will support the development, verification, and certification of data and messaging interfaces integrating SciTec software with external defense systems and communications networks. This work will be performed collaboratively with both customer representatives and with SciTec technical staff.
Responsibilities
Analysis of data link standards and interface control documents to provide implementation guidance to SciTec software developers
Support to internal and external testing of SciTec application conformance to applicable data link standards
Identification of ambiguities in data link standards and implantation issues in SciTec-developed software; management and tracking of these issues from initial discovery to closure
Analysis and documentation of SciTec software’s standards conformance to support certification for use on operational tactical data links
Additional duties as required and assigned
Requirements
Current SECRET DoD or DoE clearance
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline
At least two years of relevant work experience, including experience with support to tactical data links or other specialized data networks
Detail oriented
Good verbal and written communication skills
Candidates who have any of the following skills will be preferred
Current TOP SECRET clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information
Demonstrated experience with the application layer of defense tactical data links and messaging standards, including but not limited to MIL-STD-6016 and MIL-STD-6018
Demonstrated experience supporting the certification and evaluation of a software or communications system for operation as part of a data link
Prior experience with support to or development of software applications in low-level languages such as C, C++, or Rust
Familiarity with TCP/IP networking
Academic credentials or industry certification (e.g. INCOSE) in systems engineering.
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Experience with the design or operation of Overhead Persistent Infrared sensor systems, ground segments, or exploitation tooling
Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering tools and techniques. Familiarity with the Cameo suite of tools is particularly desired

Flexible Work Hours
The pay range for this position is $96,000- $140,000 / year. SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
