Come join the Space Based InfraRed System (SBIRS) program as a Software Engineer with a focus on software systems and build processes. In our product-based organization, we are looking for talented engineers to contribute to the success of our sustainment and modernization of the SBIRS system in our labs and at our operational sites. In this role, you will be required to implement and maintain automated software baseline builds, be able to install/config software, contribute to the future/growth of product capabilities and make recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements. In addition, you will maintain security and integrity controls, formulate policies, procedures, and standards relating to software configuration management.

Some responsibilities would include:

• building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure.

• understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developers and vice versa.

• working on ways to automate and improve software development, build, and release processes.

• testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results.

• identifying technical problems and developing software updates and ‘fixes’.

• working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended.

• planning out software projects and being involved in project management decisions.

Basic Qualifications:

• Active Secret Clearance; US citizenship is required

• Awareness of DevSecOps and Agile principles

• Knowledge of different programming languages such as:

- C/C++

- Python

- Perl

- Gitlab

- Git

Desired Skills:

• Experience in software configuration management tools and software package management tools

• Java

• Ansible

• Gitlab CI/CD

• Jenkins

• Writing Makefile for a large project

• Experience with implementing distributed source control and each stage of DevSecOps

• Chef scripting

• TS/SCI eligible

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in Colorado or Washington is $70,500 - $135,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO); receive 40 hours of Granted PTO annually for incidental absences; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of PTO per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO is prorated based on hours worked and start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
