Job Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Admissions, the Admissions Counselor I represents Naropa University to prospective students and organizations; their primary role is convert inquiries into applicants, applicants into enrolled students. The successful Admissions Counselor I exhibits superior customer service skills and professionalism throughout a multitude of daily interactions and communications with prospective students, including phone and video calls, texts, emails, and information sessions. They balance daily proactive and reactive communication by documenting all interactions and student progress in a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. Job Duties & Responsibilities

Admissions Communication & Activities (60% of effort) Manages a portfolio of prospective students, including but not limited to recruitment, inquiry conversion, application review and processing, interview support, financial aid counseling, and yield work. Proactive outreach and responsive communication with prospective students at every stage of the admissions funnel. Develops and maintains relationships with prospective students and their support systems from the inquiry stage throughout the admissions funnel utilizing various communication tactics and platforms. Represents the University at recruitment and admissions events such as school visits, conferences, fairs, open houses, and receptions. Hosts group and individual information sessions in person and via video; leads campus tours. Maintains up-to-date information on Naropa's academic programs, policies, and student supports through attendance at University events and meetings; by developing relationships with students, faculty, and staff across the University; and with active participation on University committees and sub-committees. Provides admissions leadership for one or more of the following prospective student segments: veterans, international students, first-generation college students, students of color; online learners. Provides support for various campus admissions events as directed.

Data Management & Processing (40% of effort) Enters and maintains accuracy of student records in institutional databases, including biographical information, test and education records, supplemental application material processing, etc. Acts as Designated School Official to support incoming international students, including SEVIS training, reviewing documentation for international students, and issuing immigration documents. What We Require...

Educational degree/diploma required: Bachelor's degree

Minimum length of prior relevant professional experience required: 1 - 2 years relevant experience in higher education, customer service, sales, or a related field.
