Job Description Manages the company's emergency preparedness and business continuity functions, training, and recovery plans, and coordinates the execution of these plans through all stages of an emergency. Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining an effective emergency management and business continuity program that ensures the safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and the communities we serve. This includes conducting risk assessments and providing training and support to employees. Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE's operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety. Demonstrates commitment to conduct business honestly, ethically and consistent with our core values and Code of Conduct. Ensures duties are performed in accordance with all regulatory compliance obligations. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety including eliminating at-risk behaviors by conducting safety audits and inspections, eliminating hazards and near misses, and attending safety meetings. Sets clear expectations and holds employees accountable for performance as well as safety goals/targets where applicable. Oversees training and development of employees directly and indirectly managed and makes effective staffing decisions. Ensures required training is successfully completed. Challenges and inspires employees to achieve business results. Accountable to ensure employees adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements, as well as safety standards. Conducts and ensures the completion of performance reviews and development plans. Provides coaching, direction and leadership support to team members in order to achieve employee, business, customer, and safety results. Develops, implements, and maintains an effective emergency management and business continuity program that aligns with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Leads business risk and impact analyses to identify service gaps, critical processes, required staffing resources, and strategies to prevent or mitigate risk. Collaborates across PSE, peer utility organizations, and local agencies in the development and implementation of disaster recovery plans that ensure the continuity of critical business operations and the safety of employees, contractors, and customers. Develops and maintains relationships with local, state, federal emergency management agencies, and industry peers to ensure effective coordination and response during emergencies and disasters. Coordinates the company's response to emergencies and disasters, including activating emergency response plans, communicating with employees and stakeholders, and providing support to affected communities. Serves as the primary point of contact for emergency management and disaster recovery efforts by providing leadership and direction to employees and stakeholders.
