AWS Finance seeks a world class Sr. Financial Analyst to be a key member of its team. This position will work closely with finance management as well as key business partners across the AWS organization, to drive thoughtful analysis and controllership in the AWS Storage business.
The successful candidate will provide strong finance support and controllership for S3's costs, implement and drive the core financial processes for the business including Annual Operating Plans, identifying and quantifying financial/operational Risks and Opportunities to the business, and driving ad-hoc business projects.
This role requires a self-starter with a strong financial modeling background, problem solving skills, a keen attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations, and solid skills in project management.
Key job responsibilities
Driving financial planning & analysis; building complex financial models and analytical tools to support review of S3's costs and capacity
Developing short and long range financial / operational forecasts of S3's infrastructure footprint
Develop, track, and report relevant KPIs to shed financial and operational insights into the CapEx and OpEx drivers, and influence business decisions using data and communication skills
Driving ad hoc financial analyses and projects
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
3+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
Preferred Qualifications
MBA, or CPA
Knowledge of Tableau
4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
4+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
4+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
Six Sigma Black Belt
Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence
Experience as a lean sensei, or experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
