Senior Underwriter - North America Fronting

This position is a Senior Underwriter for North America Fronting. Main focus will be the support and servicing of complex fronting accounts. The position will require an individual to have general knowledge of multiple lines of coverage and topics. They will support the Senior Team leader and assume account responsibilities under their direction.

How you will create an impact

  • Work closely with Captive Solutions Fronting Team and liaise with Product pillars to verify program structure and reinsurer details.

  • Work closely with the support teams (Legal, Actuarial, Credit & Collateral Management) to ensure fronting deals are in full compliance

  • Once bound, collect all necessary program (premium and claims) details and reinsurance documentation

  • Perform sanctions and screening checks

  • Work with Associate Underwriter to ensure booking and coding on accounts are completed

  • Ensure cash collections and onward transfers to captives/reinsurers are prompt and in line with bookings

  • Resolve account-related questions from internal peers and/or Clients/ Brokers that are within their scope; or escalate to leadership

  • Make independent sales calls to market and cross-market products. Refers declined business to other AIG divisions, as appropriate.

  • Participate in client (internal/external) conference calls.

  • Prepare for and help respond to all captive audits.

What you'll need to succeed

  • 3+ yrs relevant experience, preferably within the insurance industry.

  • Must be articulate and personable as there will be communication with clients and brokers including attendance at meetings

  • Proactive, highly motivated, well-organized, self-sufficient, and able to demonstrate the ability to work productively under minimum supervision

  • Excellent time management skills with ability to work with deadlines and be responsive and flexible to client needs and changes in program requirements

  • Ability to manage by influence demonstrating strong communication, relationship management, organizational and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work in dynamic, rapidly changing environment, adapting to changing requirements and collaborating with a wide range of colleagues to deliver expected results.

  • Highly motivated and results-oriented, proven creative problem solver.

  • Demonstrated ability to understand and work with analytical tools, reports and technology.

  • Computer literacy required: Microsoft IT packages preferred – MS Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, etc.
