Microsoft Corporation Senior Sales Operations Manager in Boston, Massachusetts
Microsoft Search Advertising (MSA) empowers the largest advertisers around the world to reach their maximum potential through digital advertising solutions on the Microsoft Advertising platform. The MSA Sales Compensation team is dedicated to designing and operating sales incentive plans that enable strategy by influencing seller behavior against key business priorities and rewarding results. We are seeking a top performing Senior Sales Operations Manager to lead the development and implementation of scalable technical solutions and sales operations processes for our segmentation and quota programs.
As a Senior Sales Operations Manager, you will build a deep understanding of the Microsoft Advertising ecosystem’s products and business strategy as they relate to the enablement of sales compensation plans. You will act as a bridge between business and engineering teams and lead complex cross-functional projects to develop scalable solutions that deliver maximum business impact and drive effective outcomes. The successful candidate will be a problem solver who is resourceful, creative and willing to work with and through others to be successful. Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the Microsoft Advertising ecosystem across the business strategy, sales motions and supporting systems, tools, data architecture and operational processes.
Collaborate with business partners to understand strategic objectives and opportunities and internalize the implications for segmentation and quota solutions.
Partner with Engineering stakeholders to design and build solutions to complex technical needs by translating business scenarios into data and tool requirements.
Design and deliver standardized operations solutions that are scalable, supportable, compliant, and trusted by our business partners.
Act as a SME advisor to stakeholders by evangelizing solutions, soliciting feedback and offering support where needed.
Present complex, often technical plans to executives eloquently and succinctly to drive awareness and alignment.
Monitor operational solutions, drive continuous improvement and provide input to inform subsequent strategic decisions.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Sales, Accounting, Information Systems, Social Sciences or related field AND 8+ years experience in sales operations, project management, analytics, compensation, sales performance analytics, finance/business analyst, process improvement, business development, consulting, finance, marketing, or a related field
OR equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience in ANY combination of the following: lead, drive, execute sales process enablement, sales excellence, sales compensation, sales operations programs, including but not limited to Quota Distribution / Management, Revenue Excellence, Segmentation Management, Seller Assignment, Territory Modeling, Annual Planning, Incentive Compensation, and Awards.
5+ years of practical experience in applying systems thinking principles including end-to-end process management, collaboration in matrixed environment, data-driven decision making and problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Sales, Accounting, Information Systems, Social Sciences, or related field AND 10+ years experience in sales operations, project management, analytics, compensation, sales performance analytics, finance/business analyst, process improvement, business development, consulting, finance, marketing, or a related field
OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Organizational Design, or related field
OR equivalent experience.
4+ years of experience in product/technical program management or product development.
4+ years of demonstrated work experience in business intelligence, data analysis, technical solutions, or related field.
Understanding of compensation principles, Microsoft solutions, sales processes and revenue systems.
Proficiency in sales technology tools and platforms (e.g., CRM systems, sales analytics software).
Sales Operations IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $115,000 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $146,200 - $219,200 per year.
