Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Senior Research Technician - Haas-Kogan Lab in Boston, Massachusetts
The senior research technician role will assist scientists in performing scientific research, development and/or clinical tasks of varying complexity. In general, they will assist in the set up, operation and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment, monitoring experiments, making observations and calculating and recording results.

We intend to hire a senior research technician in the laboratory of Dr. Daphne Haas-Kogan to support pre-clinical research focused on identifying and validating targeted therapies for pediatric gliomas. The individual will help with projects that aim to characterize the anti-tumor activity of various clinical agents in vitro and in vivo models and the molecular mechanism of action and drug resistance.
The ideal candidate will have prior laboratory research experience involving in vivo mice experiments (at least a year), mammalian cell culture, basic molecular biology techniques (e.g PCR, cloning, RNA extraction, plasmid DNA isolation, Western blotting), and biological database mining.
The candidate is expected to be highly organized and should be able to perform experiments independently under minimal supervision. The applicant must demonstrate outstanding personal initiative and the ability to work effectively in a team. The individual will be an integral member of the research group and will provide intellectual input, participate in lab meetings, and work collaboratively with members of the lab.

Bachelor's Degree required with a major in biology or chemistry preferred.
Knowledge of information and techniques related to either biology, chemistry, or medicine is preferred.
Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and be able to work with a wide variety of faculty and staff.
Must be organized and able to document all experimental details and results.
Ability to analyze information and use logic to address work-related issues and problems.
Must have attention to detail and be thorough in completing work tasks.
Ability to work within a team environment.
