More specifically the Product Development Engineer role is part of Materials and Minerals group in the Chemical Analysis Division located in Minneapolis, MN. This role can reside in either Minneapolis, MN or Boston, MA.
How will you make an impact?
Lead development of new products or major components of new products. Provide engineering support for existing products. Investigate new technologies for potential use in future products.
What will you do?
New product development
Create specifications for new product development
Develop new product concepts and system architectures
Conceptualize electrical/electronic designs
Assist in Design of electronic circuits and wiring diagrams as assigned
Conduct performance testing for product verification and validation
Provide technical information and documentation for product manuals
Develop schedule forecasts and cost estimates for development projects
Lead projects to meet specifications, cost and time requirements
Provide training on new product operation, trouble shooting and repair
Product engineering support
Correct design flaws
Add enhancements or functionality
Replace obsolete components
Lead Investigation of new technologies for future products
Participate in company Quality programs
Travel for beta site evaluation, trouble shooting, etc
Supervise design of electrical modules
Supervise product verification testing
How will you get here?
Bachelor's degree (Electrical Engineering preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of related experience
Advanced degree with 3 years of related experience; MSEE degree is preferred
HS Diploma with additional years of equivalent work experience may be considered
Electronics or electrical systems design for instrumentation, measurement and control applications
Knowledge of precision analog, digital and micro-processor circuit analysis and design, and analog and digital signal processing
Good understanding of relevant product design standards such as UL, CSA, CE low voltage directive and EMC requirements
Demonstrated success in bringing multi-disciplinary instrumentation devices to market
