Skanska Procurement Manager in Boston, Massachusetts
Position Overview

The primary objective of this position is to independently oversee and lead the effective and timely procurement of goods and services to meet the needs of a Project(s), ensuring compliance with regional and/or national procurement processes, protocols and objectives. This position reports to and receives direction from the Procurement Director while coordinating with project management
Job Description
Procurement Manager Responsibilities:
Compliance with Regional and National processes, protocols and strategies concerning and applicable to procurement
Supporting a One Skanska Approach and vision as a best practice
Attends pre-construction meetings and participate in kick-off meeting if required
Leads and executes on sourcing projects to include strategy development, preparation of RFP's, supplier negotiations and issuing recommendations as to which Subcontractor/Vendor tocontract with
Leads the appraisal of tender returns and ensure recommendations are forwarded to the relevant parties in line with the procurement program, ensuring final decisions are fully informed decisions
Builds effective relationships with project partners, external suppliers and agencies/Owners
Ensures scope, notices, terms and conditions are included within the estimate solicitations and supplier contracts
In and during negotiations, utilize and leverage Skanska's buying power relationships and expertise to ensure all materials and services are supplied at the lowest total cost of ownership
Ensures all recommended Subcontractor/Vendors have been subject to the Skanska prequalification process and all suppliers are approved before use, including issuing recommendations based on analysis for discrete exceptions to the prequalification process
Works with the Procurement Director to develop preferred Subcontractor/Vendor selection lists
Supports cross transfer of knowledge and expertise across different projects/regions of the business, including developing best practices for procurement and other applicable areas
Works with Operations and the Procurement Director to negotiate contract terms and pricing with clients and suppliers for individual or multiple projects
We're Looking For:
Experience of procurement management
Working knowledge of contracting process preferred
Previous experience as a Buyer and/or procurement, ideally from a similar background or industry
Site based experience preferred - Knowledge of suppliers, market prices and trends
Ability to negotiate competitively and effectively
Proficient with technology platforms, JD Edwards or similar, SharePoint and MS Office
Education -Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Purchasing or equivalent
5 years of industry experience
