  • Comprehensive care of pediatric orthopedic trauma patients to include assessment of new and established patients, interpretation of diagnostic imaging, pre-and post-op appointments, and coordination of care.

  • Managing acute trauma conditions and follow up in infants through young adulthood

  • Participating in daily trauma rounds starting at 7am, including case conference on postop patients, and inpatient rounding as needed

  • Some first and second assisting in the OR with the trauma team as needed

  • Assist in triaging acute trauma cases that need to be scheduled for surgery

  • Clinic coverage could be across all BCH locations including: Boston and Waltham (Primarily Boston based)

  • Working 40 hours per week, 4 days Monday through Friday

    To qualify, you must have:

  • Master’s Degree from a Physician Assistant program (Or MSN)

  • A current license from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to practice as a Physician Assistant. (Or a current Advance Practice Nurse license from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts)

  • Previous experience as a PA/NP in pediatrics, orthopedics or other related area is strongly preferred

  • A strong desire to work in the pediatric orthopedic setting.

  • Ability to work in collaboration with orthopedic surgeons, nurses, Advanced Practice Clinicians (APC) and ambulatory staff is essential.

  • Analytical skills to resolve highly complex problems requiring the application of clinical, scientific or technical principles, theories and concepts and in-depth, cross-functional experience-based knowledge.

  • Communication skills to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions, and well-developed writing skills.

  • A high level of flexibility and a solution based mindset in order to manage urgent and often unpredictable situations that arise in a trauma setting.

**Sign-on bonus of $5,000.00 for fulltime (40 hours) NP/PA hires (who have not worked at BCH in the past 2 years.)
