Massachusetts Employer MBTA RTL Dispatcher in Boston, Massachusetts
Key Responsibilities - Oversee the movement of trains on Subway Operations Rapid Transit Lines (Red, Orange, Blue) - Act as a liaison between Subway Operations and other departments - Monitor and process incoming radio and telephone calls - Make immediate decisions during off-peak hours and in emergencies - Oversee and assign work within the Tower Operator?s area - Ensure the safety of passengers and employees - Provide professional and courteous customer service Minimum Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent (GED) - Seven (7) years of professional experience - Excellent customer service, communication, and multitasking skills - Ability to pass a 20-week training period, including exams - Ability to pass background screenings and medical requirements Preferred Qualifications - Three (3) years of supervisory experience - Experience in transit dispatch, passenger railroad, freight railroad, emergency dispatch, air traffic control, airlines, or other transportation modes Additional Information - This is a safety-sensitive position subject to periodic physical examinations and random drug and alcohol testing. - This position requires on-call availability and the ability to work all shifts, including overnights and weekends. - External hires will be paid at 80% of the RTL Dispatcher rate during training.
