Job Description
The Machine Learning Researcher will join our Fundamental Research team and report to our Chief Data Scientist. The Fundamental Research team is responsible for inventing, developing, and deploying AI-driven solutions using healthcare data to improve administrative and clinical functions in delivering care .
Responsibilities
Design and implement creative solutions for a broad range of NLP problems in the healthcare domain
Train and tune large language models for best trade-offs for the application
Characterize performance of solutions for adequate speed and scale
Incorporate an expansive set of unit tests to provide reasonable test coverage and protection from regression
Collaborate with engineering and production teams for incorporating NLP capabilities into the product
Document solutions clearly and work with the QA team to ensure proper testing
Function within an agile scrum team, embracing all tenets of scrum
Requirements
PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields
Familiarity with state-of-the-art NLP techniques including large language models
Strong technical credentials in NLP, machine learning and deep learning including a track record of publications in relevant conferences and high impact journals
Solid fundamentals in problem solving, algorithm design, complexity analysis, mathematics and statistics
Proficiency in a major programming language (Python, Java, Scala or similar)
Superior verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Beneficial Experience
Familiarity and hands-on experience with healthcare data is a plus
Hands-on experience with cloud-based computing solutions such as AWS is a plus
