Boston University LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR, Human Resources, Organizational Development & Learning in BOSTON, Massachusetts

The Organizational Development and Learning (OD&L) Coordinator will join a dynamic and mission driven team reporting into the Assistant VP of Talent Development under Human Resources. The OD&L team is responsible for the professional career development of staff at all levels across all the BU campuses. The team’s portfolio includes a wide diversity of learning offerings that are virtual and in-person. The department’s mission is founded on the belief that a thriving environment where all employees can have a sense of belonging is necessary for career success. The OD&L team reflects this mission. In this role, The OD&L coordinator will provide comprehensive logistical planning and implementation support to our compassionate, dedicated, and mission-driven team of trainers and consultants. This role will:

  • Partner with internal university vendors such as events and conferencing, Learning and Events Technology Services (LETS), facilities, and catering for live in-person programming to support programming at all the BU campuses.

  • Source and coordinate with external vendors for purchase and creation of materials as relates to programs and initiatives.

  • Maintain the materials inventory, purchase items, stock and track item usage for efficient and sustainable use of materials.

  • Format, finalize, and on occasion create materials such as participant guides, handouts, job aids as needed.

  • Provide on-site support for set-up, break down, and any tasks related to the training event as needed.

  • Collaborate with team members to format the monthly newsletter for the OD&L team, and create simple promotional materials as needed.

  • Support the maintenance of the OD&L website, updating and revising content as needed.

  • Monitor the OD&L inbox, triaging requests in a timely manner while providing high quality service and excellence to our requestors.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training, education, and relevant experience in lieu of a degree

  • 1-2 years of professional experience in program coordination

  • Strong task and time planning and prioritization skills

  • Effective communication skills

  • Excellent customer service & customer experience skills

  • Comfort with technological tools that support project planning and implementation

  • Detail orientation

  • Dependability

  • Ability to learn with an eye towards continuous improvement

  • Ability to solve day-to-day problems

  • Ability to work in a team, collaborative environment
