Nike Lead 3D Generalist - Converse in Boston, Massachusetts
WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
This position will report to the Manager of Digital Custom Experience Operations. In this role, you will collaborate and successfully partner with all members of the Converse by You (CBY) GTM team. Additionally, this role will work closely with Product Merchandising, Product Management, factory partners, and Nike by You Operations teams.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a Lead 3D Generalist to support the Converse by You business. You will create, adapt, and review 3D models. The Lead 3D generalist role is integral in defining a new 3D pipeline for web-ready real-time product customization experiences.
The candidate should have a deep understanding of 3D modeling, texturing and rendering including the ability to easily adapt to new systems and tools. In addition, this person should demonstrate strong data integrity skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize work based on seasonal dates and gates. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering premium digital assets to create consumer experiences and thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
5+ years relevant work experience. E-commerce and/or Footwear experience a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in Graphics Arts, Media Arts, Animation, Game Design or equivalent combination of education, experience and training
Experience with cameras, lighting, linearization, color management, and other attributes affecting digital web processes.
An understanding of image processing and rendering (vector and raster).
Expert level proficiency in industry standard 3D modelling tools; Blender is preferred.
Expert level skill set in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator and in Adobe Substance Suite, specifically Substance Painter, Substance Designer, and Substance Sampler.
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new operating systems and tools.
Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively communicate with both business, manufacturing, and technical IT teams.
Self-motivated, detailed, organized and deadline-focused, with a proven track record to handle several tasks with varying priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Team player who demonstrates a positive demeanour even during times of change.
Role is based at Converse HQ in Boston, MA with 4 days in-office, 1 day remote

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
You will work on the Global CBY GTM team supporting the Converse by You business. A typical day/week involves creating consumer journeys leveraging assets that are provided to you from the design team to build real-time low-poly 3D models for consumer customization experiences. Assets will follow product logic and design documents to create models, materials and patterns for the consumer from our Product Merchandising partners.
If this is you, you will be responsible for:
3D modeling and material creation of accurate digital 3D assets that reflect Converse styling and technical guidelines
Ensure consistency and quality across a large volume of assets
Adapting and aligning the quality and usability of vendor provided models to match Converse standards
Provide direction and mentorship to teammates in 3D asset creation pipelines, standards and priorities
Review and management of CBY 3D assets to ensure accuracy and technology standards
Capable of self-managing project resources and daily activities
Determine the impact of project changes and communicate with stakeholders as relevant to project deliverables
Collaboration with experience ops and product creation teams to align on and execute the consumer journey in digital format.
Work with cross-functional technology partners to develop pipeline and platform updates for higher-quality customization experiences and greater breadth of product offerings in a digital space.
Collaborate on testing efforts with the collective CBY team to ensure accuracy in the digital consumer journey taking feedback and adjusting assets as needed.
Managing your time and workload against the seasonal dates and gates calendar, all while delivering high quality work.
