Commonwealth Care Alliance instED MIH Dispatcher in Boston, Massachusetts

We strive to help the people we serve safely avoid visits toEmergency Departments and the inpatient hospital admissions that often follow by offeringhigh-quality urgent care services in the comfort of the patient's home. We combine an experienced and trained team of clinicians (nurses, paramedics, and physicians), a library of proprietary medical protocols, and a technology platform to serve a growing patient population.

The instED MIH Dispatcher will facilitate visit throughput and maintain open lines of communication between instED and our Partner dispatch centers. The instED MIH Dispatcher will be tasked with assigning visits in a geographically sensible fashion to our paramedic partnerships, proactively communicating, and monitoring visit progression in order to ensure timely service delivery to our patient population. The instED MIH Dispatcher will work collaboratively with the clinical resource center nurses and administrative staff in order to ensure that instED is providing consistent, high-quality, convenient, cost-effective, and individualized urgent care in the patient's home.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Assign visits to paramedic partner companies based on geographyand collaborate with nursing staff to prioritize high acuity patients

  • Communicate with partner dispatch companies in order to providehigh level system resource management

  • Maintain awareness of all field units status and location

  • Monitor paramedic resources throughout the day via the capacity tracker

  • Assist in troubleshooting paramedics who are unable to get in contact with patient

  • Anticipate visits that will require next day service delivery and pre-schedule patients accordingly

  • Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure patients have timely access to care

  • Makes recommendations related to continuous process improvement and instED technology platform development

  • Audit patient charts to ensure complete documentation standards for each visit

  • Document an end of shift report of depicting any operational obstacles or deviance from instED protocols

  • Audits service delivery and addresses any deviance from above protocols

  • Cross-training to support customer services duties as required

  • Additional duties as needed to support the MIH service line

Working Conditions : Fully Remote

What We're Looking For:

Education Required:

  • High school diploma or certificate of graduation from a secondary education school

Education Desired:

  • Associates and/or Bachelor's Degree

Licensing Preferred:

  • 911 Telecommunicator or Emergency Medical Dispatcher Certifications

Experience Required:

  • Previous pre-hospital telecommunications experience

  • Highly adaptable and amenable to new workflows

  • Excellent organizational, time-management and problem-solving skills

  • Able to function effectively independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Effective oral and written skills

  • Ability to multi-task successfully

Experience Desired:

  • Experience in MIH or Community Paramedicine

  • Mobile Integrated Health

Language(s) Required:

  • English
