Citizens Commercial First Line Risk Analyst in Boston, Massachusetts

Description

As the Commercial Banking Risk Analyst, you perform risk control monitoring to assist one or more lines of business and/or products. Work within supervision to meet deadlines. Deliver control assessments to ensure proper controls are in place. Identify key risk indicators through monitoring to determining control environment effectiveness. Coordinate with Sr Analysts, Risk Managers, and Sr Risk Managers on progress and raise issues that arise. Perform risk assessment reporting and to make recommendations for leadership. This role offers wide exposure to processes supporting the business line and opportunities to develop on fundamental control monitoring skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the completion of control monitoring activities for one or more areas within the business line.

  • Work within established timelines to deliver control assessment and key control monitoring which are critical to determining control environment effectiveness.

  • Present analysis of testing and monitoring outcomes to key stakeholders.

  • Maintain up-to-date understanding of business processes along with regulatory, statutory and legislative requirements for risk management and controls.

  • Provide detailed analysis explaining drivers in control trends over time and recommendations to the assessment method.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of Divisions processes and control monitoring skills through increased independence on work tasks while maintaining quality.

  • Contribute to production of risk dashboards and other control monitoring reporting for management.

  • Participate in key departmental projects and initiatives.

  • Assist in risk assessment process through documentation of process maps.

  • Drive a continuous improvement mindset contributing to advances in efficiency and effectiveness by leveraging new tools deployed in the Bank.

    Required Experience

  • 6 months -1 years of work experience

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint presentation skill necessary (e.g., pivot tables, advanced functions, Visual Basics for Application (VBA) / Macros)

  • Strong oral and written communications skills

  • Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills

  • Good interpersonal, negotiating, and influencing skills with a demonstrable ability to engage senior management and engage at all levels of the organization

  • Must be well organized, detail oriented and confident to work independently as well as a strong team player

  • Ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced and evolving work environment

  • Proficient use of Microsoft suite of products and Atlassian tools (JIRA/Confluence)

Education

  • High School Graduate/GED required

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred: Accounting, Business, Statistics, Risk Management, Information Systems, Finance, Economics or equivalent field or equivalent work experience.
