RedHat Agile Engagement Consultant in Boston, Massachusetts

Job summary

The Red Hat People (HR) team is looking for an Agile Engagement Consultant for the newly created Open Design Center (ODC) to join us in Boston, MA. In this role, you will work as part of team that helps both the HR team as well as our internal customers transform the way they work by providing thought leadership on user experience, customer engagement, agile working, and customer-centric process and program design for solutions in the HR domain. We provide solutions, co-created with the customers, that are simple, impactful, and modular in nature. Working in an open way will ensure you maintain a breadth of ideas and to transfer knowledge as you work. In addition to solutions design, you will also help us provide thought leadership, tools, and consultation to others to help them think through their approach to design solutions and to help them optimize the way they work. As an Agile Engagement Consultant, you will work closely with the solutions design architect on building and developing solutions, including prototypes and minimum viable products (MVPs). You will therefore lead diverse teams and individuals across HR and customer organizations that will support you in realizing the deliverables and offerings required. Together with users and experts, you will build, test, and shape innovative solutions in the HR space, coordinating a wide range of activities and tasks. You will apply agile methodologies to ensure that solutions are created and delivered in a truly open source way, with the best impact and user experience in mind. You do not have to reside in the U.S. to apply to this role, but you should ideally be located in a time zone that will allow you to connect with key stakeholders.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Serve as a process expert, using your design thinking skills, familiarity with and experience applying agile methods, and systemic thinking

  • Make an impact by doing customer-centric work and applying your customer focus; you should also want to build something by yourself and be proactive

  • Show your ability to work in ambiguity, meaning with new customers, on new topics, without given solutions and approaches, and in very complex scenarios

  • Show up as the connector in a fully matrixed environment, demonstrating your solid persuasion and relationship building skills

  • Become an innovator on a functional or even company level on greenfield projects and innovations by applying creative thinking and delivery methods

  • Plan and own the creation and development process for solutions, prototypes, and MVPs, focusing on time, quality, and budget

  • Collaborate with customer and HR leaders to resource the solutions development with skills and resources required

  • Determine additional capabilities needed for solutions creation as a user experience design

  • lead and manage customer and HR experts in creating and developing solutions by applying agile methods and project management best practices

  • Collaborate with and support the solutions design architects on shaping the solutions design

  • Build and create change management and enablement measures based on the solutions design in order to prepare the ground for a successful implementation of the solutions

  • Take user tests and rapid prototyping insights to improve the solutions as you go along

  • Focus the solutions and their entire development process on maximizing the user experience and involvement

Required skills

  • Solid track record in project management and solutions production planning, including relevant skills and resource capacity planning

  • Exceptional experience in agile product or solutions development or other development and delivery methods focusing on pace-to-solution and customer experience

  • Solid ability to create tangible deliverables in a collaborative, iterative, and impact-focused manner

  • Ability to easily connect with experts and leaders, get their buy-in and commitment, and collaborate across teams to create deliverables the open way

  • Ability to embrace the Red Hat way and thrive in a fast-paced, meritocratic, and inclusive culture

  • Outstanding internal and external communication skills and the ability to manage and inspire a fast-paced team around common goals
