Description We are offering a job opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in the education industry, based in Boston, Massachusetts. The role involves executing transactional accounts payable work, processing invoices, maintaining vendor accounts, and collaborating with other departments to resolve invoicing issues. This position offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Execute transactional accounts payable work efficiently and accurately.

• Process invoices and match them with purchase orders, ensuring accuracy.

• Maintain vendor accounts by verifying, posting transactions, and reconciling statements.

• Prepare and perform weekly or monthly payment runs.

• Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies with vendors and internal departments.

• Collaborate with procurement and other departments to resolve invoicing issues and discrepancies.

• Utilize accounting software systems, Microsoft Excel, and Workday for various accounting functions.

• Perform data entry tasks related to accounts payable.

• Monitor and resolve any discrepancies in the accounts payable process.

• Use IBM AS/400 and other accounting functions to check processing procedures. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is essential.

• Knowledge and experience with IBM AS/400 is required.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are a must.

• Deep understanding of Accounting Functions is necessary.

• Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP) is vital.

• Experience in Check Processing is needed.

• Ability to perform Data Entry tasks accurately and efficiently.

• Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve Discrepancies.

• Proficiency in using Workday software is crucial.
