REPORTS TO AND EVALUATED BY: Head Coach, Athletic Director, and Principal
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or GED
- Current 1st Aid and CPR certification
- Current NFHS concussion test certificate
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of unique situations
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
OTHER SKILLS:
- Work harmoniously with students, parents, and colleagues
- Maintain strict confidentiality of staff and students
- Possess strong communication and organizational skills
DUTIES:
- Attend all practices, games, summer camp, fund-raisers, and special clinics
- Supervise practices and games
- Liaison between cheerleaders and coaches
- Coordinates practice schedule with all game schedules
- Provide the AD with a practice schedule each month and ensure all paperwork is signed and submitted
- Have a basic technical knowledge of stunts, spotting, and tumbling
- Organize post-season awards and banquet
- Arrange Board-approved substitute chaperones if the Coach is unable to attend out-of-town games
- Order uniforms, mats, warm-ups, and any other essential items necessary for the team through the school bookkeeper
PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Mediation and conflict resolution skills
- Model exemplary behavior with an upbeat, positive, and supportive attitude
- Supervise all areas cheerleaders use
- Adhere to all State IHSAA and NFHS Cheerleading rules and regulations
