Manufacturing Field Service Technician needed in Bolingbrook, Illinois

1 st Shift

$24/hr - $28/hr, based on experience

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for setting up and running lab tests to assist sales in the sizing and operation of our equipment, assist in operation of the toll facilities, and provide service and maintenance of equipment at our location and customer facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs routine tests on our equipment and prototypes.

  • Gathers and documents tests results on laboratory computers.

  • Perform basic mathematical calculations on test results.

  • Sets up, adjusts and operates laboratory equipment such as vac-screen, weigh scale balance, Ro-tap, and Malvern particle analyzer.

  • Works with sales and engineering in setting up and performing testing.

  • Troubleshoots to resolve technical problems and perform basic maintenance on Prater equipment in the lab and at customer facilities.

  • Provides assistance to customers with setup and startup of new equipment and systems.

  • Ensures all safety rules are strictly observed.

  • Maintains a neat, clean and orderly lab appearance.

  • Performs any other associated job-related duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills/ Abilities:

  • Mechanically inclined and enjoy working with your hands

  • Works well with team members to increase overall throughput

  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions

  • Mechanical Aptitude a plus

  • Ability to identify and solve problems

  • Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines managing multiple priorities.

  • Understanding of applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements and other related safety policies and best practices.

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (additional certifications or classes a plus)

  • Proficient with using a computer, especially Microsoft Office applications

  • Experience with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)

  • Ability to make mathematical calculations

  • Able to do simple plumbing and electrical wiring in support of testing.

  • Forklift experience and Certification required

  • Must have a valid passport for travel

Physical Requirements:

  • Strong hand-eye coordination

  • Prolonged periods standing

  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds

  • Must be able to work on unforgiving surfaces

  • Must be able to work in hot and cold climates and in an environment with many noises and odors.
