Eaton Corporation Sr. Application Engineer, Power Xpert in Boise, Idaho

Eaton’s Power Components Division is currently seeking a Sr. Application Engineer, Power Xpert to join our team.

This position is based has flexibility for remote work for candidates living more than 50 miles outside of Pittsburg, PA, Chicago, IL, Milwaukee, WI, Atlanta, GA, Newark, NJ, Dallas, TX, Houston, TX or Philadelphia, PA.

Position Overview:

In this role, you will work with one or more product lines to effectively leverage and engage Eaton’s enterprise wide resources to coordinate and grow sales of protective relays, power meters, communication gateways, trip units and Power Xpert Dashboard solutions by driving specifications and solutions to Eaton’s benefit at specifying and procurement levels within targeted Electrical Original Equipment Manufacturers (EOEM) and Machine Original Equipment Manufacturers (MOEM)

This role works to integrate Eaton protective relays, power meters, communication gateways, trip units and Power Xpert Dashboard solutions into plans and request for proposals at end users and specifying consultants. The ideal candidate will have a technical or engineering background coupled with creativity and an innovative mindset. The selected individual will be tasked with developing new product application solutions, providing technical support, and assisting the business development and marketing organization with the execution of a comprehensive product/capabilities expansion strategy on a national scale

In this function you will:

  • Facilitate the integration of Eaton specifications, products and services into targeted OEMs guided by the Strategic Roadmap set by the Meter & Relays product line.

  • Work closely with the product lines to define opportunities, develop product requirements and specifications, and design a technical plan for commercialization.

  • Lead the design/development/validation of proposed product and service applications and ensuring proper product and service validation to meet client expectations.

  • Work with targeted customers to develop solutions and specifications

  • Provide VOC feedback to the product line regarding product development and sales tools.

  • Conduct training seminars with OEMs.

  • Coordinate with local OEM sale team to maximize effort in sales region

  • Convert customer needs and/or requirements into engineering specifications

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field from an accredited institution

  • Five (5) years experience in application role or similar function (i.e. technical sales, product management, engineering)

  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or MBA from an accredited institution

  • Industrial or Utility experience

  • Selling directly to OEM customers

  • Knowledge of Energy Management, Power Quality & Distribution Products

  • Application experience with protective relays in Industrial & Utility Sub Station environments

Candidates must have ability to travel domestically up to 50% of the time.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $96,000 - $148,000 a year.

This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
