Job Summary and Description
The Senior Manager of Strategic Operations & Transformation supports the Global EHS & Sustainability organization while enabling teamwork across site level departments and with global partners. They provide leadership with subject matter expertise and support of the following fields: project management, budget management, business process improvement, organizational change management, data analysis, report development, and executive communications. The solutions and projects they support drive continuous improvement and enable alignment of department, site, and global initiatives. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Safety & Quality
Completes all required safety training and ensures all work is conducted in accordance with safety policies
Improves safety behaviors and processes for their work environment through analyzing and sharing safety data
Drives a safety culture by requiring safe behaviors, participating in safety initiatives, and setting the example for safety
Performs and facilitates audits and submits good catches on safety issues
Owns and organizes safety related projects and data for partners
Communication/Teamwork
Communicates data findings and recommends solutions to diverse audiences
Actively participates in applicable department meetings
Provide a high level of service with strong customer focus and builds effective relationships with supported teams
Proactively seeks and provides feedback on complex tasks, concepts, and theories
Generates and collates ideas from others to influence or enable key strategic objectives
Department Performance
Prioritizes projects that support Global EHS & Sustainability goals
Ensures all commitments and deadlines are met by themselves and their team
Develops new resources to address gap
Extracts, organizes and presents department data such as training, safety and headcount
Partners with the Global EHS & Sustainability training team to assist in the creation of new training materials and documents
Optimizes on-boarding and training programs for shift team members
Provide analysis of data, highlighting key organizational trends and issues, and identifying potential solutions
Conduct research and benchmarking to identify, design and implement world class practices
Design, develop and manage deployment of new processes, procedures and solutions
Establish necessary project documentation, communication plans, metrics and tracking procedures
Lead Business Process Improvement efforts
Project Management/Planning
Manages program/project rollouts and provides updates
Sets and reviews program/project objectives
Tracks program/project successes and identifying gaps in effectiveness
Establishes timelines and landmarks for projects
Provides project oversight and ensures that goals are met
Coordinates the integration and alignment of program activities across multiple areas/shifts
Drives projects to ensure that deliverables are completed within the required timeframe
Applies project management principles to deliver results that satisfy project/program objectives, are on-time, in-scope and within budget and resource requirements
Manages concurrent high level projects and resolve potential priority conflicts
Leads projects through all phases (initiate, plan, implement, closeout)
Provides project-specific direction and guidance to project team to facilitate timely and quality results
Is the primary contact/owner of various projects and programs
Ensures effective rollouts of projects/programs with proactive communication to all partners and ensure successful adoption
Consults project collaborators / sponsors on project status, constraints and mitigating
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Environmental Science, Engineering, Safety Management or related field.
Advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in project management software.
Proven experience in EHS, project management, sustainability initiatives, training management, and ISO system management.
Ability to travel as needed.
