Jacobs SCADA Engineer (onsite / Boise, ID) in Boise, Idaho

As a SCADA Engineer, you will be responsible to provide high quality engineering for facilities HMI, PLC, control systems, and support for Operations and Engineering teams that operate these systems. The primary function for this position is to maintain and develop Wonderware InTouch HMIs for the gas and contamination control systems. The SCADA software engineer will need an understanding of the software, hardware, and business practices employed in a typical SCADA system.
This is an on-site position in Boise, ID.
Duties will include:
Primary responsibility will be the programming of HMIs and related SCADA systems for the gas and contamination control groups
Work directly with Controls Engineering and Operations team to integrate design requirements into programming efforts
Support equipment startup and commissioning
Maintain existing software and systems as necessary, including troubleshooting, testing, and de-bugging
Maintain good communication with all supported Operations and Engineering Teams
Work with interdepartmental support groups (Environmental, Information Technology, Corporate Facilities Management) to assure PLC/SCADA systems meet necessary standards and requirements
Maintain standards, specifications, and procedures for HMI, PLC, and SCADA programming
Coordinate field support as needed by the various Facilities Operations teams
Program systems for HVAC and Water monitoring and control. Provide support for other systems, as needed
Write and coordinate system data reports as needed by the supported teams with Tableau and Power BI
Design, maintain, and support SCADA, Windows and Web applications, including corresponding system databases
Assure 24/7 coverage for all supported critical Facilities control systems
Maintain emergency response and disaster recovery procedures for Facilities PLC/SCADA infrastructure
Analyze systems to identify improvements that will result in better performance, efficiency gains and cost savings
Ensure Facilities SCADA systems function as necessary to maintain external agency regulatory compliance and adherence to ISO specifications
Keep abreast of current and emerging technologies for areas of concern and follow department, corporate, and industry best practices

Associates degree in relevant Electrical Engineering, programming, or equivalent is required. Bachelor's degree is preferred.
At least two years of relevant work experience
Knowledge and experience with Wonderware InTouch and/or System Platform, or similar platforms
Experience with communication servers, such as Omni Server, TOP Server, OPC servers or similar including device protocol development
Fluent computer skills, including standard Microsoft Office applications
Experience in the following: HTML, C/C++, Java, ASP.net, messaging, and communication architecture
Excellent communication skills and works well in a team development environment
Ability to maintain good customer relations
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good organizational skills
Ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently
Self-motivation
Ideally, you'll also have:
Knowledge or experience with SCADA and PLC
Experience with C#
