Location: Boise, Idaho. As Idaho’s capital, Boise offers a rich variety of both cultural and recreational opportunities. Idaho’s world-famous fly-fishing, skiing, kayaking and hiking are all within easy access. Housing costs are moderate.

Primary Duties: The successful applicant will be assigned to the Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU). This investigator will be responsible for investigating cases involving Medicaid provider fraud, as well as patient abuse, neglect, and exploitation. The federally funded and mandated MFCU is an interdisciplinary team dedicated to protecting vulnerable individuals and safeguarding the finite resources on which they depend.

The primary duties include conducting interviews, obtaining and analyzing documents and other evidence, serving subpoenas, obtaining and executing search warrants, preparing reports and exhibits, maintaining investigative case files, testifying in court, and interfacing with other law enforcement agencies. Frequent travel throughout Idaho is required.

Minimum Qualifications: Current Idaho POST Certification of Intermediate level or higher; minimum education of a high school diploma or equivalent; at least five years law enforcement experience; above-average communication and interpersonal skills; a thorough understanding of laws, policies and rules of evidence applicable to Idaho law enforcement service; ability to work in a close-knit team environment with other investigators and prosecutors; enthusiasm for public service; and the ability to drive throughout the state in state vehicles.

Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have at least five years of law enforcement experience as a detective or investigator and experience with white collar investigations with an emphasis on healthcare or Medicaid fraud.
