Trinity Health Charge Auditor - full-time days (Boise) in Boise, Idaho

Description:

We are looking to add a Charge Auditor to our team in Boise. In the Charge Auditor role, you will check clinical documentation for accuracy, enter procedural and supply charges on patient accounts, and maintain the charge master list. This role will spend half their time assisting the Supply Chain team with equipment & supply procurement and inventory management.

Our ideal candidate will have knowledge of medical terminology / experience in healthcare, but also tackles work challenges with an analytical, organized approach. Work experience as a CNA or in Supply Chain/Logistics/Inventory and/or Certification/studies in Medical Coding or HIM is preferred.

LOCATION AND SCHEDULE:

  • On-site at 1055 N Curtis Road in Boise

  • Work schedule: Monday-Friday full-time hours between 5am and 2:30pm

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in OR preferred.

  • Knowledge of surgical procedures and medical terminology preferred.

  • Knowledge of billing, consignment billing management and crediting procedures preferred.

  • Intermediate computer skills with an emphasis on MS Word, Excel, and work with databases.

  • Strong communication skills in order to interface with patients and families, physicians, managers, and staff in an appropriate and effective fashion.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.

  • Is proficient with concepts and procedures described in the procedure manuals for charging and inventory.

  • Audits patient records and charge sheets for accuracy to ensure proper documentation and patient fees.

  • Has a working knowledge of established policies, protocols, and procedures utilized in chart documentation to ensure the review process for accuracy.

  • Prepares work to for patient charging and enters charges into to system.

  • Submits changes to the Chargemaster for new or changed items and/or pricing.

  • Audits charges for correctness and accuracy, corrects charges as necessary, and reviews reports to ensure patients are being charged correctly.

  • Serves as a liaison to the Patient Accounts department.

  • Maintains positive relationships with team members and customers, including vendor representatives, surgical team members, and other charge team and business office employees.

  • Maintains historical surgical documentation and records.

  • Adjusts competencies as necessary to meet requirements of the position.

  • Completes purchases for assigned equipment & supplies.

  • Responsible for assigned supply inventory management.
