St. Luke's Health System Associate Vice President, Payer Relations & Managed Care Contracting in Boise, Idaho

Overview

The Associate Vice President (AVP), Payer Relations and Managed Care Contracting, is responsible for developing, executing and overseeing comprehensive payer relations, strategic reimbursement, and managed care contracting strategies for St. Luke’s Health System.

A critical role to the health system's success, this AVP will be a strong negotiator and relationship builder who can develop and implement a strategy for managed care contracts and network development that will support the system’s growth and financial performance. Utilizing expertise from organizations of similar size and scope, the AVP will enhance the system’s managed care contracts and advance their capabilities, creating successful reimbursement strategies that compliment, align and advance the overall strategic operational goals of St. Luke's Health System.

What You Can Expect:

  • Owns all elements of the FFS managed care payer relationships.

  • Develops and executes payer relations and reimbursement strategies, that compliment and support the organizations overall strategy and to create and advance relationships with third-party payers and other contracting relationships.

  • Negotiates all FFS payer contracts, while ensuring standardization and consistency in payer contracting efforts which comply with company objectives and regulatory requirements.

  • Oversees and coordinates FFS ancillary contract terms and reimbursement, including retail pharmacy, outreach laboratory, occupational health, et. al.

  • Directs contract management efforts to ensure payer compliance with all payer contractual terms. Hold joint operating committee meetings with all payers. Partners with key internal stakeholders to identify and initiate needed operational changes to optimize payer FFS reimbursement

  • Co-develops St. Luke's Health System FFS strategic pricing methodology in conjunction with Financial Planning & Analysis group.

  • Negotiates payer contracts to support market competitive pricing, positive performance, operational efficiency, and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance or related field (or 6 years of experience in lieu of a degree).

  • 12 years of relevant experience.

This individual will be a leader, team builder, culture contributor, and partner within the system, strengthening the interaction and connectivity this role has with the broader organization while molding a strong team with optimal structure. The AVP will be a skilled developer of leaders, collaborator, and relationship builder.
