Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean, the Director for the new School of Public Service (SPS) Academic Success Center is responsible for leading the overall strategy, implementation, team management, collaboration, and coordination of programs and one-on-one advising to enhance student success. The center will provide direct support to SPS students in academic advising, experiential learning opportunities, and career exploration - as well as connect students with a broad range of other support services on Boise State\'s campus. The Director oversees staffing the center, communicating the center\'s work, and creating a wide range of programming that strategically and collaboratively supports students as they identify and work to achieve their goals. A main goal for the Director is to ensure that the Center\'s work is inclusive and supports academic success for diverse students. The Director will develop the Center and have the opportunity to grow programmatic offerings within the portfolio creatively and collaboratively across the School with faculty, staff, students and administrators.

Level Scope:

Manages a program and/or team typically consisting of both experienced professionals and subordinate Managers. Focuses on tactical and operational plans with short to mid term focus; significant responsibility to achieve broadly stated goals through subordinate Managers. Determines objectives, directs programs, develops strategies and policies, manages human, financial, and physical resources, and functions with a high degree of autonomy. Requires broad management and leadership knowledge to lead a project or program team in one dept/job family. Proactively assesses risk to establish systems and procedures to protect organizational assets. Determines campus strategies for a program with campus-wide impact.

Essential Functions:

60% of time, the Position must:

Develop and implement a strategic vision for the School of Public Service\'s Academic Success Center in alignment with the goals and mission of the School of Public Service.

Coordinate and manage the efforts in the SPS Academic Success Center to provide comprehensive academic support for SPS students related to academic advising, experiential learning, and career exploration.

Design, implement, support, and evaluate innovative programs and approaches in academic advising, career exploration, and experiential learning.

Facilitate collaboration within the center, across SPS with faculty and staff, SPS academic programs, and with campus partners to enhance student academic support for SPS students.

Evaluate programs and strategic lly monitor data (e.g., student recruitment, persistence and retention) to make adjustments that will enhance student academic success.

Recruit, hire, train, and supervise staff within the center, providing leadership, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.

Facilitate a cohesive and collaborative team environment in the Center that promotes student success.

Work with faculty and staff to identify and oversee the execution of meaningful touchpoints for SPS students that will facilitate their success and persistence in our programs.

Develop and implement a plan for identifying, supporting, and tracking students in SPS who are struggling academically.

Lead efforts to identify and implement strategies that promote equity and inclusivity in academic support services and address the needs of diverse student populations.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, and external partners.

Implement effective change management techniques in strategically implementing programs and initiatives related to student academic success.

Coordinate with the SPS Communications Coordinator on marketing initiatives and materials that 1) increase student awareness and engagement and 2) convey the center\'s mission, services, and impact.
