Aerospace Lighting Corp. d/b/a Collins Aerospace has an opening for a Senior Engineer, Quality Engineering in Bohemia, NYDevelop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation, control systems and protocols. Provide analysis and explanations of testing and inspection plans, methods and technologies to assure reliability and conformance of products and processes. Analyze and make recommendations for corrective actions for nonconformities and/or design problems for internally produced products & processes. Utilize UPPAP core elements (e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, etc.) to identify and make recommendations for managing risk in product development. Manage processes to ensure all requirements are met for work transfer and process change management including Resourcing Gate and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) acceptance. Review process control documentation to ensure it is in compliance with requirements, objectives, and/or contracts.Up to 30% international travel to Collins Aerospace locations globally to perform quality collaboration activities. Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and 5 years of progressive experience as a Mechanical Engineer or related role in the manufacturing industry. In the alternative, at least a master’s degree or its equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer or related role in the manufacturing industry would be acceptable. Must also possess the following: at least 2 years of experience using Quality tools, including Pareto analysis, cause/effect diagrams, and process mapping; at least 2 years of experience in the Configuration Change, Material and Engineering Review Board processes; at least 2 years of experience in ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems; at 2 years of experience in the use of Pareto Analysis, cause/effect diagrams, process mapping; and at 2 years of experience in PFMEA, SPC, Control Plans, and Process Capability Assessments.Approximately 40 hours per week; salary range is $85,000 - $179,000.00 per year.
