This position is 100% onsite at our Bohemia, NY office.
This position requires a U.S Person or a person who can qualify for a Department of State or Department of Commerce License.
The salary range for this position is between $130,000 and $170,000 and will depend upon experience.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing high-performance digital designs using VHDL solutions for complex systems. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative mindset.
Key Position Accountabilities:
Design and Development:Lead the design, development, and optimization of digital circuits and systems using VHDL.
Verification and Validation:Create and execute test plans, perform simulations, and validate digital designs to ensure high performance and reliability.
Collaboration:Work closely with system architects, hardware engineers, and software developers to define requirements and implement solutions.
Troubleshooting:Diagnose and resolve issues related to digital designs, including debugging and optimizing hardware (FPGA) and software interactions.
Documentation:Maintain detailed documentation of design processes, methodologies, and results to ensure clear communication and knowledge sharing.
Planning:Develop plans, schedules, and identify resources required to develop products from market requirement through product release.
Mentorship:Provide guidance and support to junior engineers, sharing expertise and best practices in digital design development.
Continuous Improvement:Take the initiative to research, develop, propose, evaluate and/or implement new methods, processes, techniques, tools, components, or technology that improve quality, timeliness and/or performance of DDC-s products.
Qualifications:
Education:Bachelor-s or Master-s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
Experience:8-15 years of experience in digital design and development, including hands-on experience with complex projects using FPGA-s.
Tool Skills:Proficient in VHDL and FPGA design tools (e.g Xilinx, Altera).
Technical Skills:Experience with network protocols, including PCIE, 1G/10G Ethernet and TSN. Understanding of system-level designs and verification methodologies.
Knowledge:Strong understanding of FPGA architectures, digital design principles and high-speed designs.
Problem-Solving:Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with a keen eye for detail.
Communication:Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Certification Process:Experience of DO-254 certification process throughout all (SOI) Stages of Involvement phases.
Desired Characteristics:
Experience of other hardware description languages (e.g Verilog).
Understanding of other verification methods (e.g Universal Verification Methodology (UVM)).
Familiarity with embedded software designs using C/C++.
