Description
We are searching for a diligent Purchaser to join our team. Based in Bohemia, New York, this role involves overseeing purchasing activities, handling vendor relationships, and managing the buying processes. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that our purchasing department functions effectively and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the purchasing of materials and inventory in line with company policies
• Manage relationships with vendors, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of necessary goods
• Collaborate effectively with the rest of the team to understand purchasing needs and requirements
• Apply strong communication skills to negotiate favorable terms with suppliers
• Collaborate with the Purchasing Department to develop and implement purchasing strategies
Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Purchasing role
• Prior experience with Buying Processes
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience working in a Purchasing Department
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure
• Chef skills are desirable but not essential
• Must be able to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
