The Team and Job Summary
As experts in construction dispute resolution, we leverage our understanding of the construction industry to avoid, and when necessary, identify, assess, and resolve construction claims and disputes that may arise. The Associate Director leads teams that are providing claims analysis and development services such as schedule analysis, job cost report analysis, earned value analysis, submitted claims review and dissection, etc. The Associate Director receives directions from and reports to Managing Directors and Senior Managing Directors within J.S. Held’s Construction Advisory services line.

Job Responsibilities
DISPUTE RESOLUTION: Technical Expectations
Schedule Analysis – Total Time, Impacted As-Planned, Collapsed As-Built, Windows Analysis, Time Impact, Weather
Loss of Productivity/Efficiency Analysis – Measured Mile, Total Cost, Modified Total Cost
Scope Change Assessment – Bid vs. As-Built
Calculation of increased material and/or labor costs – Escalation, Extended Duration
Extended General Conditions Analysis – Extended Duration
Home Office Overhead Analysis – Extended Duration
Lost Profit Analysis
Document Management – inventory and filing
Travel as needed to visit Client’s project sites, offices, and meeting sites
DISPUTE RESOLUTION: Performance Expectations
Lead and Mentor teams of Consultants and Senior Consultants
Utilization of 75% Allocated to Billable Client Work, unless adjusted by Supervisor
Generate $100,000 in Annual Engagement Revenue
Draft Expert Reports and Work Product
Develop and Deliver Findings to Clients
Present in Mediations
Represent J.S. Held at Client Meetings
Complete Expert Witness Training
DISPUTE RESOLUTION: Core Characteristics
Communication : Effectively communicates at all organizational levels, both in writing and orally. Maintains confidentiality of clients and the firm.
Project Focus : Sees things through to completion, deals effectively with potential obstacles and exhibits the flexibility to adapt to whatever a situation calls for. Work is completed within designated timeframes. Takes proper action when time frames cannot be met to assure the work of others is not compromised. Uses non-billable time effectively.
Professionalism: Has a positive attitude, displays a sense of pride, enthusiasm, optimism and deep dedication for work with both clients and colleagues. Is a self- motivator, willing to take on new challenges. Takes responsibility for increasing his/her own skills.
Teamwork: Works well within a team of other professionals; Seeks out opportunities to take on additional company initiatives, in the office and the community.
Quality of Work: Has strong work ethic, taking care to produce accurate work. Has mechanisms in place to check work and ensure the quality of work being produced is accurate and timely.
Administrative: Able to self-perform conflict checks for new engagements, draft engagement letters, and develop preliminary engagement budgets
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in the fields of Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Science, Technology, or Accounting.
Minimum of 2-7 Years of Experience in Construction Dispute Resolution.
Advanced English level (C1+).
Master’s Degree and professional license preferred.
Experience working with Oracle Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
Microsoft Office Suite of Tools.
Preferred Qualifications
ADVANCED SOFTWARE: (preferred but not required)
Advanced Excel skills – Pivot tables, Power Pivot (DAX), Power Query (M)
Microsoft Power BI Desktop and Cloud

Physical and Mental Job Qualifications
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to travel for various assignments.
