Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Civil Engineering Project Coordinator - Boca Raton, FL.

Facilities Management oversees FAU's six campuses and sites encompassing over 1,100 acres.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update infrastructure drawings and records for all FAU campuses, ensuring they reflect current building/site information based on as-built drawings and onsite verification.

  • Coordinate and review civil engineering drawings in collaboration with Design & Construction Services project managers and design professionals.

  • Civil Engineering and Technical Support:Provide civil engineering expertise and AutoCAD support to the Facilities Management team.

  • Manage and update all project records, documents, and correspondences in a digital format, ensuring adherence to established file structures and document control procedures.

  • Ensure project managers provide necessary documents for project initiation, planning, execution, and closeout.

  • Conduct site visits to FAU construction sites to verify compliance with dig permits and coordinate stormwater management practices in conjunction with Environmental Health & Safety.

  • Review and ensure accuracy of contractual documents, including drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and bids.

  • Perform routine site inspections, substantial completion reviews, and final inspections to ensure adherence to contract documents and safety standards.

  • Facilitate special studies related to construction or renovation projects by coordinating with consultants as needed.

  • Collect and analyze data to support project management and improvement efforts, ensuring that tasks requiring professional engineering or architectural expertise are handled by licensed professionals.

  • Collaboratively maintain and update the reference library within Design & Construction Services.

  • Work together to manage and organize the plans rack for all construction projects, ensuring accessibility for all team members.

  • Participate in additional job-related tasks as assigned, contributing to the team's overall success.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience required.

Understanding of safety regulations and practices in the construction industry required.

Ability to interpret and analyze technical drawings, plans, and specifications required.

Experience with project management software and tools to track progress, budgets, and timelines required.

Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project needs and priorities required.

Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices in civil engineering, project, and construction management required.

Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders, fostering a collaborative work environment.

Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously required.

Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant design software required.

Salary:

$70,000 - $75,000 per year.

Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Additional hours may be required outside of normal business hours.

This position eligible for flex scheduling under the discretion of the supervisor.
