Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Boca Raton, Florida
Description We are seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team based in Boca Raton, Florida. This role will primarily focus on handling customer accounts and resolving inquiries. The Accounts Payable Clerk will also be responsible for processing applications and maintaining meticulous customer records.
Responsibilities:
• Efficiently and accurately processing customer credit applications.
• Keeping precise records of customer credit.
• Proactively addressing discrepancies and variances in invoices for resolution.
• Assisting with audits when necessary.
• Ensuring data accuracy and completeness by auditing invoice entries against documentation.
• Prioritizing and selecting invoices for payment based on potential cash discount and payment terms.
• Managing and sorting incoming mail.
• Processing and indexing receiving tickets and permit checks.
• Comparing invoices against received items on purchase orders.
• Requesting and recording monthly release of lien and Vendor Affidavits.
• Thoroughly maintaining files and documentation in accordance with company policy.
• Responding to all vendor and company inquiries.
• Assisting with company check run and vendor statements when needed.
• Exporting approved invoices as necessary.
• Assisting with other projects as required. Requirements
• Proficient knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) procedures
• Ability to use accounting software and databases
• Excellent data entry skills
• Strong understanding of basic bookkeeping
• Familiarity with general ledger procedures
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to handle confidential information
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Understanding of applicable laws and regulations related to Accounts Payable
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Construction experience required
• High school diploma required, degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration preferred.
