Description We are in the retail industry, located in Bluffton, South Carolina, and we're currently seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will be expected to handle a variety of tasks related to financial reporting and operations. This position offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Handle the posting of invoices, obtain approvals, and schedule payments for multiple locations.

• Act as the primary liaison with vendors, resolving issues and maintaining productive relationships.

• Prepare and present various reports such as analysis reports, metrics, and aging reports.

• Take part in the continuous improvement of master data information and system functionality.

• Download, analyze, and prepare journal entries from large volumes of data.

• Assist the Director of Finance with tasks such as month-end closings, account reconciliations, financial analysis, and budgeting/forecasting.

• Input and reconcile Intercompany transactions.

• Provide support to retail stores and cross-train to support Accounts Receivable.

• Assist in the development of various analysis including inventory, freight, and import costs.

• Liaise with other offices and support the Procurement Manager.

• Reconcile inventory accounts to the general ledger. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within the retail industry.

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation and Month End Close procedures.

• Proven experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Demonstrated skills in Budget Forecasting.

• Ability to effectively Reconcile Inventory.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.

• Relevant certification or degree in Accounting or related field is preferred.
