ABOUT THE ROLE

The Industrial Electrician position is a multi-skilled position responsible for the operation and maintenance of the electrical systems in the cement plant.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Troubleshoot and repair a diverse range of electrical equipment throughout the cement plant (Example: Instrumentation circuits, motor control circuits up to 13.8 kilovolts, low and medium voltage drives, monitoring analyzers)

  • Schematic reading & instrumentation calibration

  • Digital and Analog PLC program use in troubleshooting

  • Low and medium voltage cable routing, splicing and terminating

  • Basic mechanical activities (For example: Non-critical welding, laser alignment)

  • Perform walk-by inspections & diagnostic checks

  • Maintain documentation, plan and organize work, participate in various team activities

  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Required Education: High School Diploma/GED

Additional Education: 2 years’ electrical related experience in an industrial environment is required

Required Computer and Software Skills: Effective computer and systems skills

Travel Requirements: Minimal

Additional Requirements:

  • Required to work with high voltages (up to 13.8 kV), work outside, at heights, warm temperatures and in confined spaces.

  • Position will be predominantly day shift but incumbent will be required to work shifts as necessary.

  • Ideal candidates would have a high technical aptitude

  • Ability to work in a team based environment

  • Experience in a heavy manufacturing environment for at least 1 year preferred.

  • Excellent electrical knowledge

  • Familiarity with National Electrical Code for applications up to 15 kilovolts. We offer a very competitive compensation package which includes an incentive program and excellent benefits.   • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
