The Sr. Benefits Analyst position is responsible for assessment and administration of Donaldson's retirement benefit programs including employee benefits education, training, communication, and ensuring plan provisions are properly applied and followed. This person will support the Sr. Benefits Manager in strategy and design of retirement plan benefits by evaluation and comparing retirement plan benefits with other employers through market and data analysis. Role Responsibilities: Retirement Program Administration Perform day to day retirement plan administration activities and serve as subject matter expert for the companies defined contribution, defined benefit and non-qualified plans. Provides guidance, support and education on retirement plans to team members. Work to resolve complex issues (in partnership with plan administrator, HRIS, finance, compensation, legal and/or payroll as needed). Ensure programs are being carried out appropriately based on plan documents, summary plan descriptions and plan provisions. Work with legal counsel to review and implement plan amendments and make appropriate changes to plan documents. Engage in vendor management (and escalate as appropriate) to ensure Donaldson is receiving optimal service and integrations are working efficiently and effectively. Research current benefit trends and best practices and make recommendations for changes to the Sr. Benefits Manager. Compliance Maintain awareness and understanding of new and existing laws, regulations, and guidance applicable to Retirement plans. Ensure plans are compliant with legal and regulatory requirements. Execute timely reporting and filings including Form 5500's, Pension filings and Summary Annual reports. Analytics and Reporting Identify, develop and/or maintain retirement dashboard and analytics. Communications and Training Work with internal communications partners to produce semi-annual retirement communications and conduct benefit trainings to internal and external partners and general employee population. Serve as the lead in defining user requirements for retirement reports and function. Partner with HRIS to conduct system assessments regularly in order to maintain/improve efficiency and compliance, makes recommendations, and completes user acceptance testing. Lead, own and drive miscellaneous retirement projects and initiatives including developing data analytics and ad-hoc reporting. Other Areas of Benefits Support Sr. Benefits Manager in other projects and activities in other areas of the Benefits function. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field or related experience with 401(k), pension and non-qualified plans. 5+ years of progressive experience in retirement programs and being a subject matter expert. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel in creating and working with pivot tables, if-then statements, formulas, V-look ups, etc. and working with large data sets. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex retirement plan documents and resolve benefits related issues. Preferred Qualifications: Workday experience a plus. Experience with retirement plans at a public company. Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple retirement benefit programs, deadlines and priorities simultaneously. Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal and customer service skills.
