TEKsystems Remote Healthcare Records Analyst in Bloomington, Minnesota
Description:
The Information and Records Management (IRM) department sits within Enterprise Risk and Compliance and is responsible for providing data retention requirements to teams in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom for both Best Buy and Best Buy Health. IRM owns and updates the records retention schedule and advises teams on the system registration and decommission processes, best practices for data migration, contract review, compliance audits, etc.
Project Description: Working with Health team members to ensure records management compliance, including proper retentions are applied and data is purged/destroyed at the appropriate times.
Position Summary/Job Description:
• Retention: Collaborate with stakeholders to identify data topics, communicate retention requirements, review contracts, and assist with certificates of destruction.
• Compliance: Stay updated on health regulations and standards (e.g., HIPAA) to balance business needs with compliance requirements.
• Purge Audit Compliance: Conduct retention audits, document findings, and handle policy exception requests, including remediation plans.
• Documentation: Develop and maintain data management standards, procedures, and protocols.
• Destruction: Review decommission requests to ensure proper destruction or capture of record information
• Metrics: Establish and track KPIs, using data-driven insights to identify areas for automation to save time and resources.
• Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

Employees will own the records retention schedule (policy that outlines how long to keep records and how to dispose of them) that owns the data.
Responsibilities not listed above but on the call:
-Performing compliance audits
-Work with team as company is bringing in new system or decommission old systems (e.g. business wants to get rid of an application, they can not wipe it away, need to keep the data in a useable format, where it's stored and how to get access to it.)
-Meet with business groups discussing where data is, they previous history and future plans of the data.
Data topics with system of record so they know where to find data and CCPA/PII - where data is stored and stored downstream along with complying with HIPAA requirements.
