Description

Robert Half is seeking an entry-level accounts receivable clerk to join our client's team and offer additional support for a long-term need. This individual will provide attention to detail, have strong data entry experience, and be willing to learn. As an entry-level accounts receivable clerk, you will be an integral part of our finance team, managing customer invoicing and payments and ensuring timely collections. This role offers valuable hands-on experience in accounts receivable processes and provides a foundation for growth within the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Invoicing and Billing:

  • Generate and prepare accurate invoices for products/services rendered.

  • Verify billing data and ensure invoices are sent to customers in a timely manner.

  • Maintain organized records of invoices and related documentation.

  • Payment Processing:

  • Record and apply payments received from customers accurately and promptly.

  • Reconcile payments with invoices and resolve any discrepancies.

  • Monitor accounts to identify overdue payments and follow up with customers as needed.

  • Customer Relations:

  • Serve as a point of contact for customer inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account balances.

  • Work collaboratively with the sales team to address customer billing issues and resolve disputes.

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers to facilitate timely payments.

  • Collections:

  • Initiate collection efforts for past-due accounts through phone calls and email correspondence.

  • Send out regular statements and reminders to customers regarding outstanding balances.

  • Work towards reducing the accounts receivable aging and maintaining a healthy cash flow.

  • Reporting and Analysis:

  • Assist in preparing regular reports on accounts receivable status, aging, and collections.

  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve billing and collection processes.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; an associate's degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.

  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and concepts.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective customer interactions.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Eagerness to learn and develop skills in the accounting and finance field.
