Our managed hotels portfolio includes Radisson Blu, Radisson, Radisson Red, Park Plaza, and Country Inn & Suites by Radisson. The Area Director Business Travel Choice Managed Hotels is responsible for driving property- level revenue through sales plans that address local and Choice Managed business objectives/challenges. This role will oversee and collaborate with our four Minneapolis based Choice Owned Hotels (Radisson BLU Mall of America, Country Inn & Suites Bloomington Mall of America, Cambria Bloomington Mall of America, Radisson RED Downtown Minneapolis) and will not have any direct reports. The primary mission of this role is to help drive the business travel strategy and topline revenue for this portfolio of hotels, as well as to liaise with the Corporate Director Sales & Marketing, Choice Managed Hotels and the Choice Corporate Sales team as well as Hotel DOSM's and General Manager of assigned hotels. Key Responsibilities Meet all Topline Revenues in assigned markets 50% Assists each hotel's DOSM with determining annual revenue goals for the negotiated segment Keeps current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and comp set activities Responsible for effectively managing revenue by utilizing market industry data and knowledge to secure appropriate business to maximize hotel profitability Continually develops knowledge of the business climate, geographic market, and competition for new and existing accounts Uses all market tools to find, gain and capture market share through prospecting and closing contracts with new accounts Ensures the sales call process is generating maximum profit for the hotel by implementing marketing strategies, analyses trends and tracks results Champions, prospects, fosters engagement, and raises awareness of the brand Implements national brand sales programs by developing relationships and fostering both field marketing and revenue management relationships Maintains sales projections and/or goals by mix of business Ensures Business transient and related leads are generated, and new business moves through the sales cycle (from the initial inquiry to definite/consumed status) Networks to identify prospect clients and maintains relationships with existing clients by discussing their evolving needs and assessing the quality of our company's relationship with them Networks and prospects new and existing accounts while developing and maintaining excellent client relationships and overall CRM skills Uses outside sales calls, prospecting, hotel tours and hosting of clients to solicit new business Develops and implements new sales initiatives, strategies and programs to capture key demographics Develops and delivers each account strategy relating to overall hotel and portfolio performance Responsible for utilizing sales tools/systems to accurately identify, report, forecast and communicate sales data. Ensures integrity of sales data by documenting information in specific brand software on a regular basis P ovides follow-up calls and correspondence to clients to encourage repeat business/customer referrals Operational Excellence 50% Assists with the completion of monthly booking report(s) Prepares reports as necessary to improve management decision making and critical evaluation of work activities Produces required volume of work by planning, organizing, and prioritizing work duties Adheres to Choice Managed Hotels Associates attendance policy, grooming and appearance standards, general work rules, and department procedures Maintains a clean and safe work environment, follows all procedures for guests and employee incidents and is knowledgeable for hotel emergency procedures Ensures all company, brand, and department specific training requirements are met Virtually and if needed, personally, attend daily, weekly and/or monthly department/hotel meetings to ensure proper communication/planning occurs Completes other tasks and duties as assigned based on business needs Interacts and communicates effectively with each hotel's DOSM to their and their owner's satisfaction Job Requirements Five (5) or more years related experience in Business Transient, Government, TMC and Consortia Markets, preferably in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel Three (3) or more years and training on Travelclick and/or Kalibri Labs for customer intelligence and sales efforts with proven results Ability to travel as required Required to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of times Rare heavy lifting expected, exertion of up to 75 pounds of force occasionally may be required Use of manual dexterity of common office equipment; such as but not limited to, computers, printers, phones etc. Skills An intermediate to proficient understanding of systems such as: Microsoft Suite including (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Delphi, Opera, Tableau is preferred Bachelors degree in Marketing, Sales, Hospitality/Hotel or related field, preferred Ability to work on multiple projects, manage time efficiently, be resourceful and effectively implement feedback Excellent writer and communicator with extreme attention to detail Experience working on short deadlines and in a fast-paced environment. Independent self-starter who's comfortable in a fast-paced environment Other Information The hotel business functions seven days a week, 24 hours a day. All associates must realize this fact and be aware that at all times it may be necessary to move associates from their accustomed shift and alter assigned duties as business dictates.
