Advanced ASIC FPGA Engineer Scottsdale, AZ or Bloomington, MN Contract Position $66.43-$71.43/Hour Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains. Responsibilities:

  • Design, define, verify, and document ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) and FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) developments.
  • Develop architecture, system simulations, and detailed design approaches for devices.
  • Define module interfaces, evaluate design processes (e.g., synthesis, place-and-route, timing, power utilization), and create test and simulation plans.
  • Verify test results, analyze performance, and review vendor capabilities, foundry technologies, and simulation tools.
  • Contribute to improving organizational ASIC/FPGA processes and the generation of technical engineering products.
  • Conduct research and analyze data, including customer design proposals and specifications, to determine design feasibility.
  • Plan and execute project tasks while independently determining approaches to solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance to lower-level employees and collaborate with internal teams and external customers.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field and 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Clearance: Active Secret clearance required.
  • Proficiency in ASIC/FPGA engineering concepts, design principles, and processes.
  • Experienced with ASIC/FPGA design tools and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of related disciplines and ability to stay updated on technology trends.
  • Strong skills in communicating technical issues, impacts, and corrective actions.
  • Ability to think creatively, multi-task, and work independently under limited direction.
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Familiarity with industry standards and processes for ASIC/FPGA development.
    • Experience contributing to major projects and programs.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to sell concepts and ideas effectively.
