    Position Summary

    As a member of the sales department, the Proposal and RFP Operations Support position is responsible for supporting the sales team in tracking and pursuing educational funding opportunities as well as tracking the workflow of the team. The scope of work for this critical role includes tracking incoming proposal and RFP requests, supporting the timely submission of all RFPs, RFQs, proposals, and other documents, maintaining and updating the online library of proposals, and the corresponding duties that accompany these priorities.

    The Proposal and RFP Operations Support position is a hybrid role (a combination of in-person and remote) based in Bloomington, Indiana. Thus, the successful candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance to the Solution Tree Bloomington corporate office.  Candidates must be also be legally authorized to work in the United States.

    Summary of Essential Job Functions:

  • Support RFP responses for federal, state, district, and foundation funding

  • Maintain all proposal and RFP tracking, as well as updating a library of support resources used in responding to these opportunities

  • Maintain active vendor registrations for all states and specific jurisdictions that require them

  • Function as a member of a team completing similar projects; cross-training will occur, and applicant must be prepared to assist with most departmental tasks

  • Other duties as assigned

    Work Environment:

    This is a hybrid position (a combination of in-person and remote) which requires the person to work in-person several days per week in the Solution Tree corporate office located in Bloomington, IN.

    Physical Demands:

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The Proposal and RFP Operations Support must have excellent written, verbal, and auditory communication skills.  Use of standard office equipment (computer, printer, overhead projector, etc.) is also required, and light lifting may be required on occasion.

    Position Type:

    This is a full-time position. Days and hours are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm Eastern time. 

    Travel:

    Multiday and overnight travel is required for Solution Tree's company-wide corporate retreat (which typically takes place each year in January).  Also, in-person attendance is required for all quarterly departmental meetings held throughout the year at the Solution Tree corporate office in Bloomington, IN.

    Required Education and Qualifications:

  • College degree preferred

  • Previous RFP or proposal experience preferred but not required

  • Experience with organizing and coordinating a workflow including multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

  • Excellent written communication skills

  • Highly organized with an eye for detail

  • Ability to remain calm and productive in a fast-paced environment that includes frequent deadlines

  • Technologically proficient, especially with the Microsoft Suite (including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
