Optum Behavioral Care (OBC), part of the Optum family of businesses, is seeking a Manager, Clinical Administration to join our team in Michigan. Optum is a clinician-led care organization that is changing the way clinicians work and live.

The Manager, Clinical Administration oversees the administrative and operational functions of OBC.
The role includes strategic planning, managing daily operations and ensures that all centers run smoothly and efficiently, supporting both clinical staff and patients.
The Administrative Director will manage a team of 12 or more individuals that are responsible for greeting and supporting check in and check out patients, consent and insurance eligibility verification, handling existing patient communications, managing internal referrals and ensuring work locations are presentable and welcoming. The Manager, Clinical Administration will set team direction, resolve problems and provide guidance to members of own team.
Primary Responsibilities:
- • Managing Center Operations: Oversee the day-to-day administrative functions, create schedules and provide coverage as needed. Ensure daily, weekly and monthly metrics are met and facilitate remediation plans if targets are missed, in partnership with the Executive/Market Director• Patient Visits: Ensures patients are completing all needed actions, reviewing each patient’s chart within 48 hours and ensures consents and insurance verification are complete• Strategic Planning: Set team direction and adapt departmental plans and priorities. Collaborates with [brand] leadership to provide input in needed priorities to address business and operational challenges• Staff Supervision: Hire, train, staff and supervise administrative staff, ensuring they adhere to office policies and procedures. Provide development, training and address performance management needs with timely feedback• Communication: Fosters open communication and collaborative culture with regular team meetings and consistent team check ins• Change Support: Champion change across the team with consistent communication, encourage feedback, celebrate success and address resistance. Become a subject matter expert within processes and systems changes to support clinical and admin teams• Facility Management: Ensures all locations are welcoming, safe and adhere to brand guidelines. Work with administrative and clinical teams to address maintenance needs. Maintain and order office supplies and equipment as needed• Compliance: Ensure all locations comply with healthcare regulations and standards• Patient Interaction: Manage complaints and feedback; ensure patient inquiries are addressed quickly. Helps problem solve and trouble shoot patient complaints to ensure high level patient satisfaction• Enterprise Collaboration: Actively participate in Optum Behavioral Care (OBC) leader and team meetings; cascade communication to ensure team is informed of key initiatives or changes• Clinical Coordination: Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure high-quality patient care and office operations

Required Qualifications:
5+ years of office experience
1+ years of supervisory experience
1+ years of experience managing a high-volume office in multiple locations
1+ years of experience working in a healthcare practice
Based in Michigan
Ability to travel 80% locally to visit multiple offices Michigan
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience working with computers for professional communication and medical documentation - Excel, Outlook, Athena RMS (or other EHRs)
Experience working in a mental health agency or similar setting
Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with equal effectiveness
The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
