Robert Half Accounting Manager in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan

Description

We are on the lookout for an Accounting Manager in BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Michigan. In this role, you will manage various accounting transactions and ensure the provision of accurate financial reporting. This role also involves close collaboration with senior leadership and external auditors.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the generation of financial statements every month, including the balance sheet and statements of activities, functional expenses, and cash flows.

• Handle internal financial reporting for contributions, grants, endowments, and net assets, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate with the CFO and external auditors to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.

• Assist in processing payroll and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

• Ensure timely and accurate payment to vendors.

• Maintain strong internal controls and support the continuous improvement of financial processes.

• Use Microsoft Excel and other tools to conduct month-end close activities and prepare month-end journal entries.

• Utilize your skills in General Ledger to keep accurate records and process transactions.

Requirements • Position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or related field.

• Applicant must possess strong knowledge of General Ledger.

• Proficiency in Month-end Close Activities is necessary.

• Demonstrated ability to prepare and adjust Month-end Journal Entries.

• Must be proficient in using Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is expected.

• CPA certification would be a significant advantage.

• Experience in a leadership or managerial role is preferred.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

• Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.

• Experience with financial software and systems would be advantageous.

• Must possess the ability to work independently, while also contributing to team goals.

• Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload effectively are required.

• Must have a strong attention to detail and an aptitude for numbers.
