Provides exceptional service to perspective home buyers, serving as a trusted counselor Promotes conventional and government programs and Bank services to real estate agents, builders, affinity accounts and other referral sources as well as prospective customers. Writes an annual sales plan identifying key, conversion and prospecting accounts. Makes regularly scheduled sales calls on targeted accounts, and develops and maintains business relationships with those referral sources. Collaborates with branch offices and loan support staff, and informs appropriate personnel of bank product/policy changes and updates. Works with Liberty Bank outreach officers to provide mortgage products in line with our CRA objectives. Counsels prospective customers regarding appropriate mortgage programs. Prequalifies based on income, debt, employment history, and other credit data. Originates loan applications and monitors the loan from application through closing, maintaining effective communications with customers, referral sources, and loan support staff. Identifies cross-sell opportunities and refers to appropriate teammates.

principal accountabilities

  1. Business Development - Exercises effective sales techniques and implements successful sales and marketing strategies to grow market share.

  2. Volume/production goals - Attains established loan production goals and objectives.

  3. Borrower Education - Works closely with customers to determine qualification criteria and to consult on available loan options.

  4. Sales Outreach - Makes sales calls on targeted accounts with specified frequency based on the written annual sales plan.

  5. Trade Involvement - Represent and promote the Bank's image and increase marketing efforts through attendance at trade events.

  6. Compliance - Adheres to applicable federal and state regulations and Bank policies and procedures, including OFAC, BSA, PATRIOT Act, Privacy, and consumer protection regulations pertaining to incumbent’s business line. Completes required training (on-line and in person) by set due dates. Must register with the NMLS as a Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO). To be registered, the MLO must pass a background check. Failure to comply with registration and annual registration or not pass a criminal background check administered by NMLS may result in termination.

    Annual Sales Goals: $15-$20MM No. Est. Referral Sources: 15-25 accounts, which are determined by the annual sales plan. $1,250,000/monthly loan closing average Minimum knowledge/skills

    Minimum 2 years current experience in residential mortgage originationsin the Hartford/Bloomfield Market, with a proven track record of production meeting the above-listed job dimensions.

    Working knowledge of conventional and government loan programs, and secondary market guidelines. Thorough understanding of the real estate industry.

    Proficient computer skills and a high level of comfort with origination systems and industry-related software programs required.
