The Cigna Group Proposal Support Analyst-Dental/Vision/Supplemental Products in Bloomfield, Connecticut

Position Purpose:

Create professional, accurate, and value-oriented proposal responses that meet the client specifications and buying characteristics, specific to integrated and standalone Dental/Vision/Supplemental opportunities. Clearly reflect Cigna's Dental/Vision/Supplemental, marketing and integration strategy throughout the RFP process.

Primary Accountabilities:

  • Own the coordination and completion of all Cigna Dental/Vision/Supplemental proposal materials, ensuring all deadlines are met.

  • Maintain and display thorough knowledge of existing Cigna Dental/Vision/Supplemental products, administrative processes, and new initiatives (products, benefits, sales selling focus) as they are introduced.

  • Have a complete understanding of the Sales segment alignments (National, O/U500, Government and Payer) as well as the selling and RFP process styles of each segment and/or Salesperson.

  • Add to and/or lead the strategic direction of the RFP preparation/coordination by performing the necessary research of the client/industry/competition, and leveraging knowledge of Cigna Dental/Vision/Supplemental products and initiatives.

  • Customize the RFP for the client’s needs/Hot Buttons/Renewals (applying strategy).

  • Offer alternatives and suggestions to position Cigna in a more positive light (add value).

  • Effectively negotiate delivery dates, turnaround times and RFP response coordination with Sales, and provide alternative solutions to meet their needs if necessary.

  • Identify questions requiring unique responses and own/create/develop answers with others to address the question (individual and collaborative customization of RFP specific to the client).

  • Drive for newer, better, and faster ways of completing each RFP, seeking opportunities to add consultative value to each RFP.

  • Create compelling graphics, charts and other exhibits as often as possible using all tools at disposal to create enhanced RFP responses.

  • Edit and finalize proposal responses for completeness and conformance to case specifics, prior to shipping. Underwriting and Sales responses should include language developed by you (library responses and/or customization). Sales and underwriting should only need to review responses for accuracy.

  • Own and ensure that the final overall binder review is conducted on the day the case ships. Drive for binders to be as complete as possible, minimizing the activities that matrix partners (e.g. Sales) are required to handle prior to delivery to broker.

  • Provide timely and consistent communication to matrix partners, both written and verbal; obtain information needed to support RFP’s and offer feedback to matrix partners on information provided regarding the impact (negative and/or positive) to the sales process. Drive improvement to the RFP process; enhancing customization, streamlining processes and building strong relationships with our customers (Sales).

  • Own and/or support process improvement projects and department priorities within PM. Year-round engagement with library team, as well as continuous involvement and ownership of library Dental/Vision/Supplemental-related content improvements. Consistently strive to ensure library is robust (minimize need for SME outreach), current, accurate, user friendly/efficient and contains responses that meet PM and Sales standards.
