Utah State University Construction Worker in Blanding, Utah
This position is geared toward accomplishing construction or related type projects at the USU Blanding Campus. The worker successfully hired for this position will be required to work 40 hours per week as a temporary position at USU Blanding. This position will last between 8 and 10 weeks until a variety of construction related projects are complete. Estimated completion is mid-August to early September.
This is an ACA Variable position.
The successful individual for this position will become a temporary member of the USU Blanding Campus.
Skills that pertain to the safe operations of the USU Blanding Campus Construction projects within Professional Career and Technical Education.
Ability to change duties several times in a day.
Must be safety-minded and able to follow instructions with minimum supervision.
The duties will include construction related to residential housing, framing, interior and exterior finish, concrete, project layout and overall well rounded construction skills will be needed.

Completed a construction internship at USU Blanding.

1+year industry experience in construction.

This position requires considerable physical activity. Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position including heavy lifting and/or pushing and pulling of heavy objects. Employees must be prepared to assume uncomfortable positions, such as crawling, kneeling, and squatting. Employees work outside and will not be protected from weather conditions, including extreme cold and extreme heat for extended periods.
Employees are exposed to hazardous conditions including, noise, vibrations from machinery, moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, exposure to chemicals, elevated work spaces, such as scaffolding, and atmospheric conditions that can affect the respiratory system, such as fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, and poor ventilation.
